Just a few months before the COVID lockdowns hit, a group of musicians on WhidbeyIsland, in Washington State, were frustrated. Despite being surrounded by a body of water named Puget Sound, they were finding the area far too quiet for their liking. In response, they formed the Failed Abortions, a hardcore punk-thrash crossover band, to blast the fast noise from Puget SOUND!
Up-and-coming vocalist Vincent “The Scissor Throat” Rodger and bass player Nate“Rack ’Em Up” Reed are founding members of the Failed Abortions. They added “Mr.Shred-Head” Charlie Silk on guitar, along with Northwest black metal drum legend TJ Animal. The final missing piece was Nicholas “No Sleep ’TilWhidbey” Rader, who moved up from California to add a second guitar to the band's dynamic SOUND.
The Failed Abortions, whose name derives from their parents’ unfortunate lack of success at the good old try at pregnancy termination, cover a variety of subjects in their lyrics. These topics include but are not limited to, horror, humor, and politics ... oh wait a minute, those three are one and the same. Vincent’s vocals combine with Sam’svenomous drumming, Nate’s bass playing in the style of Boris the Spider, and the feverish, grinding guitars of Charlie and Nicholas to complete the SOUND!
