about

Action Buddie, a/k/a Action Buddy, released their debut album So Who That Mutha? in 1991, through Ever Rat Records. It was engineered and produced by Grammy-winning producer Adam Kasper (Foo Fighters, Aerosmith, Queens of the Stone Age, R.E.M., Peter Frampton, Pearl Jam, etc.). Sounds of rock, punk, rap, and funk resonated in the music, breaking down barriers that had not previously been crossed. Action Buddie was often described as the second coming of Fishbone, with a fresh, new approach. Punk and metal reporters likened them to a different group, Bad Brains. However, Action Buddie’s sound was very original and distinctly different from the music of both bands to which they were often compared.

Action Buddie hail from Seattle, where they are considered legendary by local musicians and have a very loyal following. They have played up and down the West Coast in the past, and after a lengthy hiatus, now have returned to performing regularly. On December 10th, 2022, Action Buddie had the pleasure of sharing a venue with Fishbone. Both groups ignited and electrified the audience.

This release includes the complete album So Who That Mutha, plus three additional tracks recorded in the nineties, on which Action Buddie is joined by Lawrence Norman on guitar. All tracks have been completely remastered by Jack Endino (Soundgarden, Nirvana, etc.). The band is ecstatic about the new energy that he brings to the release.
Enjoy this masterpiece. Action Buddie wishes all of you peace, love, and harmony. Until the next studio album ... Que sera, sera!
