about

When you combine two of the Northwest's greatest thrash/punk/speed-core bands on one seven-inch record you're bound to get songs about horror and alcoholism. When it comes to serial killers, Bigfoot, and booze, you know you're in the Northwest. The Accused are notorious for creating the sub-genre 'Splatter Rock' which has a punk base, a speed-core sound, and a horror theme. Today, thousands of other bands have joined in the splatter rock genre, but it all begin in 1981 in the northern corner of Washington State when the Accused were born and the drinking and horror began. Splatter Rock's most famous illustrator Tommy Niemeyer created the cover as well as co-wrote the Accused song 'Fast Zombies Rule' with vocalist Blaine Cook who blasts out the vocals in true 'Splatter Rock' fashion.

The drinking really starts to take place on Side Two, Potbelly's side. They deliver their sarcastic dark-toned music and lyrics with a true classic, 'Girls Are Much Sexier When They're Terrified' and follow it up with 'O.H.T.', a song paying homage to the Oak Harbor Tavern, where the punks drink and metal and punk music be heard nightly. Both the Accused and Potbelly have played their multiple times. Enjoy Potbelly and the Accused. Cheers to your fetus!
