Famed Low Brow artist Anthony Ausgang steps away from his easel to put a literary twist on Pop Surrealism with his new novella, The Browser. Much of The Browser’s plot and prose are influenced by spam emails that Ausgang himself received; emails not only offering low priced meds or free money but also, more disturbingly, assassins for hire and blackmail opportunities. As in Ausgang’s first two books, the main character is Puss Titter, this time playing an art curator at the Cat Museum in the city of Hill Town Eye. When Puss Titter ridicules emails warning of an assassination attempt on her life, the murderer is forced to prove his intent by executing one of her friends. Convinced that the threat is real, Puss Titter tries to pay off the assassin by selling a mysterious version of the famous painting Dude Descending a Staircase that may or may not have been stolen from The Cat Museum. Dismayed to find that more than money is expected of her, Puss Titter finally takes the killing into her own hands, making the action take a surprising turn in The Browser.
