The title says it all. North Sound, referring to the North end of the Puget Sound in Washington State. Surely everyone has heard of the Seattle Sound and the constant influx of new and past Seattle legends like the Dehumanizers, Sound Garden and Nirvana, but there is an area an hours plus drive to the north from Seattle which extends westward to Whidbey Island and the San Juan Islands and all the way north to the Canadian border. This area has been a hotbed of Northwest music for four-plus decades. This compilation is designed to create a historical record of these bands as they are almost always left out of the Seattle discussions. The songs on this compilation date back as far as 1981 and it’s a collection of some very rare recordings. It includes the likes of splatter rock gods The Accused, thrash legends Mace and Coven, humorcore stars such as Dumt and Potbelly mixed in with 20 other bands.
